Who is fmiart?
I am a self-taught artist expressing myself through contemporary painting by mixing various materials and techniques. My job is a meeting between contemporary art, the suburbs and solidarity.
Why the suburbs? because it marked my childhood and largely guided my way of perceiving the world. It is an environment often photographed and filmed, but little represented in contemporary art.
Why solidarity? I have unconditional admiration for people who have done good around them, sometimes to the detriment of their own lives. I paint individuals who have played a crucial political, social and/or cultural role for their country or internationally.
My works are vibrant with color, reflecting the positivity of the message I want to convey.
I chose to live and work in Marseille to benefit from the cultural and social excitement of the city, where the people I paint take on their full resonance. My influences range from Banksy to Basquiat through other lesser known artists such as Diego Tirigall, Daniel Freaker or Yonil.
